How Does A-1 Louisville Manage Your Concrete Leveling Project?

December 19th, 2022 | 5 min. read

By Sarah Etler

Learn how A-1 Concrete Leveling Louisville manages your concrete repair project from start to finish.

It can be nerve-wracking to trust a company you’ve never worked with before to take care of an important investment into your home, no matter how great they seem on the surface.

However, being informed about their processes, and how they plan to make things run as smoothly as possible for you, can go very far in alleviating some of the stress involved along the way.

Here at A-1 Concrete Leveling Louisville, we’ve been helping our customers get back their safe, level, and great-looking concrete for over 25 years, and in this time we’ve constantly worked to develop and improve our processes of planning, scheduling, and managing repair projects.

Because we know how helpful it can be for our customers to know how we do things, we are more than happy to make this information available.

This article will serve as a guide for you to get to know all about our project management, scheduling, and payment processes, which will help keep you informed and prepared for your revitalized concrete!

Meet Your Project Manager

In order to keep things both organized and personal, we have a single project manager that takes care of A-1 Concrete Leveling Louisville's repairs.

Danniel has been with A-1 for over two years, and she manages all repairs from the time their estimates are approved until the repair is invoiced.

Our customers can rest assured that things are far less likely to fall through the cracks with one central project manager who is personally overseeing all work being done.

Among other things, Danniel is responsible for scheduling repairs, dispatching technicians with the appropriate equipment and material, payments and invoicing, and communicating progress and timelines with customers.

After Your Estimate: What Now?

If you’ve already had Dakotah or Isaac come to your home to provide an estimate, you may be wondering about the next step in the process.

If you want to approve your estimate as it is, you can simply reply to the estimate email indicating that you’d like to proceed. You can also reply to the email to change or remove certain line items in the estimate.

Following your response, Danniel will send an email that gives you more information about the process and asks scheduling-specific questions to get the ball rolling, like if there is a certain time frame when you need the repair to be completed.

Scheduling Your Concrete Leveling Project

After you give the green light to your estimate, you’re well on your way to safe, level concrete.

Some questions that Danniel will ask in order to get you on the schedule are…

  • Are there any scheduling concerns or conflicts to be aware of?
  • Do you want to be present for the repair?
  • How much notice do you need before we perform the repair?
  • Do you have functioning water spigots?

Tentative Dates

We try to provide tentative dates as soon as possible after your estimate is approved, but during busy periods, this can take up to a week.

We provide tentative dates because unforeseen circumstances, like bad weather and unexpected equipment repairs, can cause delays in the process. However, as your tentative date gets closer, Danniel will keep in touch with you to confirm it.

If you have a specific date in mind for your repair, we try to accommodate it as best as we can, and Danniel will also reach out to you as this date approaches to confirm it.

ASAP Anytime List

If you don’t need much notice, or you don’t plan on being present for the repair, you can be added to our “ASAP Anytime” list. This means that when our crew members finish a job early and have an unexpected opening in their day, you will be contacted to see if you would like your repair completed that day instead of your tentative date.

Rescheduling

Winter is the time of the year when we need to reschedule most often due to the unpredictable nature of the weather, but heavy rains and extreme weather during the summer months can also cause us to reschedule repairs.

Our goal is to be able to reschedule repairs within their original week, but sometimes this isn’t possible due to these unforeseen circumstances.

Confirming Your Date

Danniel will follow up with you at various points before your repair date to confirm that the date still works for you.

On her final confirmation, she will double-check that you have water available, ask whether or not you plan to be there, and see if you would like to be called or texted when the leveling crew is on its way to your home.

The Day of Your Repair

If requested, you will get a call or text when the A-1 crew is on its way to repair your concrete.

If you choose to be present for your repair, the crew members will greet you and explain exactly what they will be doing on your property.

Depending on the work that needs to be done, your repair could take as little as a couple of hours, or as much as multiple days, but this will be communicated ahead of time.

Here are some detailed explanations about our process to help you get an idea of what to expect:

Concrete Leveling + Cleaning and Sealing

If you are having your concrete cleaned and sealed in addition to having it leveled, the process looks a little different, and it is usually spread across multiple days.

On the first day, one crew performs the leveling, and if your concrete will also be caulked, they will grind it. Another crew comes out, either the same day or the next day, to do the cleaning. They return the following day to caulk the ground cracks and gaps and to seal the concrete.

Sometimes in the summer, this can be done all on the same day. It all depends on how quickly the concrete can dry in between the steps in the process.

Payments and Invoicing

You will receive an invoice by email the day after your repair is complete, which you can pay online with a bank transfer, by credit card (with a fee), or by mailing a check. You can also pay the A-1 crew members on-site.

Paying on Site

If you choose to pay the A-1 crew members on the day of your repair, you can use cash, check, or money order. Every crew has receipt books in their truck, so they will be able to give you an official receipt for your payment.

Paying Your Invoice

If you choose to wait for the emailed invoice, it will come with a link for payment via bank transfer. You can also opt to have your invoice mailed to your address.

You can pay with a card over the phone, or request a link to input your card payment information online, but there is a credit card fee associated with this payment method.

If you prefer to mail a check to the office, you can also pay your invoice this way.

Follow-up and Future Questions

A day or two after you receive your invoice, a review request for the crew is sent out. Filling out this review helps our crew improve and shows other potential customers what you thought about A-1 Concrete Leveling Louisville’s service.

After this point, if you’ve already paid your invoice, you likely won’t hear from us again unless you have a question or concern and reach back out to our team. If you do, you will speak with Danniel again, and she will help direct you to the right answer or solution.
