Clean & Protected Concrete in 2 Simple Steps

Remove Dirt & Stains
Pressure washing the concrete removes built-up dirt, oil stains, mold, and other grime from the surface.

Apply Protective Sealer
Penetrating sealer creates a protective barrier against moisture, salts, stains, and other damage-causing agents.
Why should you clean and seal your concrete?
Concrete Cleaning and Sealing Benefits
- Improves the look of your concrete and increases curb appeal
- Protects against staining, mold growth, surface damage, and more
- Helps prolong the life and durability of the concrete

Sealing Concrete With Penetrating Sealer
Here at A-1 Concrete Leveling, we use a high-quality penetrating concrete sealer to protect and preserve your concrete.
Penetrating concrete sealer goes on clear and absorbs into the pores of your concrete. It undergoes a chemical reaction that makes the concrete surface hydrophobic, or waterproof.
This hydrophobic barrier prevents water, salts, oil, stains, and more from being absorbed into the porous concrete, dramatically cutting down on surface damage and stains.

Before and After Concrete Cleaning and Sealing

*Because penetrating sealer is clear and provides protection from within the concrete itself, it does not change the concrete’s color, texture, or tread. However, cleaning the concrete can make a big difference.
Penetrating vs. Topical Concrete Sealers
Here at A-1, we primarily use penetrating concrete sealer. It absorbs into the surface of the concrete and undergoes a chemical reaction to create a waterproof barrier against damage.
Topical sealers, often shiny, tinted brown, and slippery, are another widely used type of sealer that sits on top of the concrete rather than absorbing into the slab.

Have More Cleaning and Sealing Questions?
We’ve got you covered with the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about concrete cleaning and sealing.
How long after concrete cleaning and sealing until I can use my concrete again?
How long does penetrating concrete sealer last?
Penetrating sealers can last between 5-25 years depending on environmental factors. We recommend doing a penetrating sealer test every 5 years to see if the concrete can absorb any additional sealer.
When a penetrating sealer is applied, water beads on the surface. Over time, the water beading on the surface becomes less noticeable. However, the sealer permanently bonds with the concrete, which creates a protective barrier.
What does concrete look like after being sealed with penetrating concrete sealer?
Penetrating sealer typically does not change the look or texture of the concrete itself. How the concrete looks after being cleaned will be how the concrete looks after being sealed with a penetrating sealer.
