Not sure whether your concrete can be lifted? Request a free, in-person estimate and we’ll help determine whether leveling or another solution makes the most sense.
Concrete settles when the soil beneath a slab shifts, erodes, or can no longer support it evenly. Water can enter through open joints, cracks, and slab edges. As it moves through the ground, soil may soften or wash away, leaving empty spaces beneath the concrete. Without consistent support, part of the slab can begin to sink.
A-1 works on that ground across the whole Colorado Springs service area, in Black Forest, Manitou Springs, Air Force Academy, Security-Widefield and the towns around them. What sits under a slab changes from one community to the next.
Around Colorado Springs the bigger factor is dryness rather than frost. With roughly 15.9 inches of precipitation in an average year, soils here can shrink back as they dry out, leaving a slab with less support beneath it than it was poured on. Freeze and thaw still occur, but the drying-and-shrinking cycle is the one that typically moves concrete in this area.
Bentonite Clay swells when it takes on water and shrinks back as it dries, so the support under a slab can change with the seasons. That is what puts a slab out of position here.

ControlLevel™ is A-1’s standard for concrete lifting, refined since 1982. It brings together specialized equipment, a limestone-based stone slurry, trained technicians, and a controlled process that responds to the conditions beneath each slab.
Together, those factors give A-1 Colorado Springs greater control over the flow of material and the pace of the lift, helping us raise settled concrete carefully, minimize disruption, and avoid unnecessary tear-out.
The stone slurry is pumped at a slow, controlled pace. As empty spaces fill, the technician monitors and adjusts the lift, then patches the holes and cleans the work area.
With ControlLevel™, you often get to keep the concrete you already have, walk on it the same day, and drive on it the next — all without tearing out and replacing the slab.
Holes are drilled, about the size of a quarter.
Mixture is pumped beneath the concrete slab.
Hole is patched, and you can use it right away.
From lifting settled slabs, to protecting the concrete you already have, A-1 provides services for homes and commercial properties throughout the Colorado Springs area.
Whether it’s your home, a property you manage, or a project you’re responsible for, A-1 helps you understand the problem, choose the right repair, and plan the next step.

Yes, we offer a warranty here at A-1 Colorado Springs. Get in touch to learn more about our warranty details.
In addition to the ControlLevel™ system, A-1 also offers foam concrete leveling and will choose the best method for your concrete.
Our primary service is the care and maintenance of existing concrete that has deteriorated in some way, often saving you a significant amount over the cost of new concrete.
In most cases, you can walk on the concrete the same day and drive on it the next. Your A-1 technician will explain any project-specific restrictions before leaving.
Not necessarily, and that may be intentional. Outdoor concrete is often built with a slight slope so water drains away from buildings. A-1 works to return the slab to the best practical position.
