Sidewalk Leveling of a stamped concrete sidewalk using an environmentally friendly limestone grout mixture pumped beneath the concrete. This creates a rock-solid base ensuring many years of level concrete, eliminating trip-hazards and restoring beauty to the home.
In Wichita’s climate, heavy rainfall alternates with drought, causing clay soil to expand and contract. This movement may crack or settle your concrete. Water may also pool next to your concrete, causing erosion and settling.
Sidewalk slabs present one of the bigger concrete nuisances, for both safety and aesthetic reasons. Our Wichita team eliminates tripping hazards by creating smooth transitions between concrete porches, steps, and sidewalk slabs.

Costs for your concrete sidewalk leveling job can vary depending on a number of factors, including:
- How many sidewalk slabs need to be leveled?
- How far has the sidewalk sunk?
- Are there any large voids under the sidewalk?
- Is the sidewalk close to other concrete, like driveways or steps?
So, although we can’t give you a specific cost for leveling your sidewalk, we can tell you that most of the time it will be significantly less than other alternatives.
Sidewalks can get out-of-level for a number of different reasons. But, the primary cause of sunken, or uneven concrete sidewalks is water. Whether it’s water running under the sidewalk from a downspout or water that’s getting under the slabs and freezing and thawing causing the concrete to heave, during our thorough evaluation process, A-1 Concrete Wichita will always recommend ways to stop your concrete walkways and sidewalks from sinking in the future—ensuring you have beautiful, safe concrete for years to come.
“We have a lot of clay around the Wichita area. If it is not properly remedied before placing concrete . . . then it will swell/contract with moisture/drought and cause a lot of settling and or cracking. We can get periods of heavy rainfall, and if water is pooling next to, or dumping right next to your concrete, it will cause erosion, and shortly thereafter, settling.”

Other than seeing our work in person, there’s no better way to get a handle on what our process can accomplish than to look at some before and after photos. Take a look at these examples below to get a sense of how our concrete leveling process works, and the results you can expect.
Wichita Concrete Sidewalk Leveling
Uneven sidewalks can be a major trip-hazard. Let A-1 Concrete Leveling Wichita even your sidewalk up without the expense of replacement.
Sidewalks can be leveled without bothering the surrounding landscaping.
Even afterwards, nothing has moved with the plants along the sidewalk.
Wichita Sidewalk Concrete Repair
This is a situation we see quite often. The sidewalk has broken away from the step and water has washed under the walkway creating a void, which caused the sidewalk to sink.
This sidewalk had sunk so much, rain was washing the landscaping over the crack, most likely funneling water beneath the slab causing more damage.
After the concrete sidewalk was lifted, A-1 Wichita installed a non-shrink, long-lasting caulk to the crack to keep water from getting under the slab again.
Sidewalk Leveling, when done right, can be a great alternative to tearing it out and replacing it. But the key is “when done right.” Our sidewalk leveling process has been refined over the years until we’ve got it down to a science. Sure there’s still some art to it, and our “Concrete Whisperers” are highly skilled at knowing just how to move a sidewalk slab the way they want it to go, but the process is actually pretty simple.
“We start by drilling a 1" hole (size of a quarter), and then we pump in crushed ag lime. The limestone looks like a milkshake while we pump and will push against itself to fill in all voids. Then it will build pressure smoothly and evenly to lift the concrete. Once the concrete is in position, we will fill the holes with a non-shrink grout, seal any areas needing to be sealed, clean up, and depart.”
