Digital Content Manager

Reports to: Director of Marketing

We’re looking for an all-star digital content manager to join our growing team as the owner of our inbound marketing initiatives. Your goal will be to help us drive qualified traffic, leads, and sales by establishing our company as the most trusted voice in Concrete Leveling.

Our digital content manager must have a passion for writing and storytelling with a journalist’s mindset, as well as an obsession with content performance, content management, and analytics. They should possess the heart of a teacher with a love for learning, writing, and communication in all forms.

Most of all, they will see the value in every person on our team and put them at ease, empowering them to tell their stories and share their expertise with our audience.

Benefits and Pay Range

  • Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 per year.
    • Will be commensurate with skills and experience.
  • Work from home (a plus if you live in the Louisville, Kentucky area.)
    • Some travel, including a Corporate Annual Meeting (usually in the winter, somewhere warm.)

Responsibilities:

  • Own the content strategy that allows for consistent publication of the types of content that drives revenue and significantly impacts sales.
  • Publish at least three new pieces of content per week.
  • Interview (remotely, or in-person)  internal subject matter experts for content.
  • Edit, proofread and improve other content creators’ posts.
  • Direct company email marketing efforts, including newsletters and automated workflows.
  • Work closely with sales team to identify content topics and develop editorial calendar.
  • Rely on content analytics and reporting to inform decisions.
  • Lead search engine optimization (SEO) efforts for website and content. 
  • Manage social media content for community engagement and long-term content promotion.
  • Produce premium content, including ebooks, pillar pages, and other offers used to convert our audience.
  • Weekly professional development and continued education in relevant areas. We want someone who loves to learn. In fact, learning is a significant part of the job.

Educational Background

A degree in English, Journalism, or Public Relations is highly preferred but not mandatory. Commensurate experience will be considered.

Skills and Required Knowledge

  • A true passion for writing.
  • Impeccable writing and editorial skills, with an outstanding command of the English language.
  • An understanding of common editorial style guides, e.g. AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.
  • Clear articulation of the business goal behind the creation of a piece of content.
  • Project management skills to manage editorial schedules and deadlines within corporate and ongoing campaigns.
  • Incredible people skills.
  • Has interview skills and is a curious and thoughtful listener.
  • Understands how to use data to inform all strategic decisions.
  • Operates well with giving and receiving feedback.
  • Has a team mentality.
  • Bonus would be some experience with video (shooting and editing.)

Technical Knowledge

Knowledge of the following software/systems (or similar tools) is a bonus:

  • Website Content Management Systems (Like Wordpress)
  • Google Sheets (Microsoft Excel)
  • Google Analytics

  • Google Ads
  • Facebook Ad Manager
  • Adobe Suite of Tools

Application Process

Our process follows these steps:

  1. Submit your application, cover letter, resume, writing samples, and BONUS video answering questions on the application.
  2. Participate in a virtual interview (via Zoom) with our key managers.
  3. Then, we would give you a topic and set up a time for you to do a mock interview with a subject matter expert (again via Zoom.) You would then write a short sample article of one of our processes, based on the information you pull from the interview. This will be due within 48 hours.
  4. A final interview, going over the sample article, and ending in a job offer if we decide you’re a good fit for our company.
